Created in anticipation of Native American Culture Month (April 1st - 30th) and the 2015 National Library Week theme "Uncovering Maryland History," the following subject guide on the Native American experience is intended to give users a starting a point to researching a vast and complex history. The resources presented here offer a broad overview and cannot comprehensively address all tribes, histories, stories and encounters. Where possible, resources examining and representing the local Native American experience have been highlighted. Please contact a librarian for specific information and resources.
