Search Tips

HELP FINDING RESEARCH ARTICLES IN DATABASES

1. Select the Advanced Search screen. Enter the terms Research OR Studies in one of the search boxes, and select "Subject" from the drop-down box.

2. Enter your topic terms (keywords) in the other boxes.  Use "quotaton marks" around phrases, or words that belong together; for example, "social anxiety."

2. Be sure to limit your search results to Scholarly and/or Peer-Reviewed articles.  Also limit your results to "Full-Text" (will give you only articles that are available in digital form through the databases).

NOTE: Make sure that the article you find is not META-ANALYSIS research; that is, a synthesis of studies that have been done by others.  For this class, your article must contain ORIGINAL research conducted by the authors themselves.
