Publishing in Scholarly Journals-Scholarly & Creative Recognition at Harford Community College: Home

Each year, HCC faculty and staff contribute any number of scholarly and artistic efforts to their field of study or area of creative interest. HCC Library, in partnership with the Office of Academic affairs, takes special care to recognize and celebrate those efforts that are published or performed in a peer-reviewed venue. Since 2010, over 60 employees have been recognized for close to 100 different publications or performances, including 2022 (the most recent year eligible for recognition). In addition to a special plaque and framed certificate presented to each qualifying employee at Convocation, these scholars, artists, and performers are further honored by having their names added to a perpetual plaque located in the Library’s Special Collections Room. Whenever possible, copies of the recognized works are also added to the Library’s collections of works by HCC employees.
