College Archives: Home

Welcome to the College Archives LibGuide!

This guide is designed to help you use the College Archives more easily.  Follow the tabs across the top -- or their corresponding links in the outline below -- to go to those sections of the guide.

Use the About section of the guide to learn more about what sorts of research the College Archives is helpful for, and what kinds of material it has.

Go to How do I... to learn how to do research in archives.  This tab explains how library and archival materials are different.  It also suggests ways to think about your project, so you can find the resources you need.  And finally, it explains how to request and use archival material.

The College Administration tab goes into more depth about the archival resources relating to the administration of Harford Community College.  Much more information than you might think on every aspect of the College can be found in Board of Trustee minutes, memos from the President, and Self-Study reports.

In Teaching and Learning, you will find information about our material relating to instructors and classes.  You can learn, for example, how you might use this material to track a specific course from its original proposal through committee meetings to its acceptance into the official course catalog.

The College Life section of the guide will introduce you the wide variety of material from daily life on Harford Community College's Campus.  This material ranges from familiar and accessible items like newspapers or theater programs to kodachrome slides and loose photograhs, sorted by category.
